Buccaneers getting crowded at corner position.

Another player that is making the most of his opportunity is CB Leonard Johnson. The 5-foot-10, 196-pound Clearwater native was one of 14 undrafted free agents the Bucs signed last week.  Johnson did not waste time when the rookie mini-camp began this past weekend. He impressed the coaching staff enough that he was pulled from the group of try-out players and allowed to work with the defensive backs staff and drafted players.

"I came in not knowing what to expect, and here I am with the drafted guys," said Johnson, a former Largo High quarterback. "So we all blend in now. Someone told me (Saturday), 'It's not how you get here. It's what you do once you're here.' And that just said it all. So I'm excited."

With the signing of CB Derrick Robinson, the drafting of CB Keith Tandy and now Johnson, what was once a thin position has now became a crowd.  Defensive backs coach Ron Cooper now has Ronde Barber, E.J. Biggers, Leonard Johnson, Myron Lewis, Derrick Robinson, Aqib Talib, Keith Tandy, Quenton Washington and Eric Wright all in his cornerback stable.  This should be a fun training camp watching this competition unfold.  Competition brings out the best play. This camp should be outstanding.
