Many Buccaneers fans are still curious as to what the Bucs plans for the corner back position may be. A great deal of fans were dead set on hearing CB Morris Claiborne's name called on draft day. The Buccaneers did select a corner back in the draft but it was not Claiborne. The Bucs took CB Keith Tandy out of West Virginia in the 6th round. Tandy is a great prospect at that point of the draft. He was a 3 year starter and racked up 13 interceptions.
But it was what the Bucs did before the draft that we at BuccaneerTalk are more impressed with. The Buccaneers went out and got the corner back they targeted in free agency Eric Wright. Wright's statistics are easy to find. Five years professional experience, 323 tackles, 63 passes defensed and 13 interceptions. But BuccaneerTalk took a quick look to see just who is Eric Wright. Although we have not spoken directly with Wright, you don't have to look far to determine this answer to that question. It seems that there are two side to Eric Wright. When it is time to go to work, he is serious and all about work. But when it is play time, he is one heck of a personality. He is self proclaimed stylist and in reading some of his writings, he is a fun loving and comical guy. Even one of his own slogans makes you have to think. "If a thousand words is equivalent to a picture then welcome to the cinema.. With a shot of wheatgrass and an enema.. Who wanna style war with the Emperor?" .
After the Bucs first mini-camp, and with a unique blend of both his serious and funny personalities, Wright said "It's all good until your out there calling out the terminology from your last team....LMAO"
BuccaneerTalk likes players that speak their mind. We like players that show a personality. And we love players that are serious between the lines of the game. Here's hoping for a great future for Eric Wright as a Buccaneer. GO BUCS!
i Hope he ends up playing well for us , CB is probably are biggest area of concern. If he plays great we can get by..... If he ends up not playing well for us, well we might get torched a few times!
